How we record
Meat Research Lab is an independent editorial site that records only what can be verified when choosing pork.
We only write what we checked on the product page. Price, weight, thickness, origin, breed and certifications are checked directly on each retailer's product page, and we note the retailer and the date checked in every article.
We do not write taste reviews or fabricated opinions. We do not guess how a product tastes, and we do not present experiences we have not had as reviews.
We compare on the same basis. Products with different pack sizes are converted to price per 100g before comparison: price ÷ weight × 100.
When something is not stated, we say so. If a product page does not state the thickness, we write that it is not stated and keep it separate from products that do.
Prices and product details vary by retailer and date. Figures in our articles are as of the date checked, so please confirm on the product page before purchasing.
Our sources
For grading, certifications and traceability, we rely on these official sources.
- Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation — pork carcass grading standards
- Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency — animal welfare farm certification
- Korea Animal Products Traceability — pork traceability lookup
- Food Safety Korea — internal cooking temperature and food safety standards
Prices and product labels are checked on each retailer's product page — Market Kurly, Greating, HiPork Mall, Pukyong Pig Farmers' Cooperative, Dodram Mall, Oasis Market and others — and every article notes where and when we checked.
